fnd

A fast, visual, offline document search tool for the terminal. It leverages advanced ranking and filtering to quickly locate the information you need across custom pre-indexed collections and sources, supporting more than 60 file types, formatted in an easy-to-read, navigable interface. It integrates tightly with Obsidian and other editors for opening files in your preferred apps at the exact match location. PDF files are notoriously difficult to format cleanly in CLI's; FND texturises documents to detect formatting and information structures like headings, lists, tables and code, delivering a well-formatted, query & reading experience. Everything runs locally and privately; nothing ever leaves your machine.
